Can I use the REI MasterCard to make purchases outside of REI?

  • Yes, your REI MasterCard can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted. And the more you use your card, the bigger your REI MasterCard rebate. You’ll earn 2%1 on groceries through March of 2017, and 1%2 on other eligible non-REI net purchases (purchases minus credits and returns). The 2% back on groceries and 1% back on other everyday purchases2 will be combined with 5% back3 on REI purchases and returned annually along with your REI dividend.

Can I get the 1% back on any type of transaction?

  • No. Almost every non-REI purchase or payment transaction earns you 1% back,2 but interest charges and fees, balance transfers, convenience checks, cash advances and other advance transactions are not eligible to earn rewards. How do purchase returns affect my dividend balance?

  • The 1%2, 2%1 and 5% back3 from all returns credited to your REI MasterCard account will be deducted from your rebate balance. Returns made in January will not be recalculated on the prior year's purchases but may be reflected as a negative on the next year's rebate. The merchandise return date and your billing cycle will determine if REI receives information to recalculate totals before rebates are calculated.

What should I do when my card number or expiration date changes?

    2. Update your new information with all merchants that bill your card
 automatically, i.e.:

      • Utilities: gas, water, electric and garbage

      • Online services: iTunes and PayPal
